Bruce's Original Team
The Bruce McLaren Movie project is proud to have the support of Bruce’s family and so many of the people who made up Bruce’s original team. To celebrate their involvement we’ve asked them to provide a quote about Bruce, which we will publish here over the coming weeks.

Edward Everett “Teddy” Mayer 1935 – 2009In the weeks prior to his death Teddy Mayer (in sunglasses with Bruce McLaren) had been assisting us with the script for The Bruce McLaren Movie. We feel privileged that Teddy chose to sign on to the project. His knowledge, insights and opinions have assisted us greatly as we move through script development. We at Team BLM would like to extend our sincere sympathies to Teddy’s family and to his many friends and colleagues around the world who will miss his towering presence. |

Amanda McLarenAmanda is Bruce's daughter ...more details "...we are delighted that this film is going to be made. So many people are unaware of Bruce’s achievements, how he founded the team that still exists today and his success in so many aspects of motor racing – something that even Ferrari have not been able to emulate. His friends and colleagues also remember Bruce as an inspirational leader and motivator and my mother and I are looking forward to seeing this film completed and honouring the legacy of a great man, husband and father."

Patty McLarenPatty married Bruce in 1961 ...more details "[In Bruce's time] hi-jinks were common place and although rivals on the track, the drivers were also great friends who travelled and partied together from race to race. Imagine Lewis Hamilton lending Jensen Button a spanner or even an engine and then having a beer together after the race today. F1 has changed beyond recognition and this film will take us all back to a time when motor racing was incredibly glamorous, extremely dangerous and very, very different to how it is today."

Worldwide respect for Bruce is remarkable even though it is nearly 40 years since his death. Through this film we want to share this beloved member of our family with the entire world so that people of all ages and from all walks of life can be inspired by his achievements as we all have been."

Here is a man to whom I owe so much, and if his kindness, tenacity, passion, humor and all round good bloke that he was, can be portrayed on film it should be great example to all on how to live life well."
