Project Status: In Development
"In Development" basically means that we are currently developing the story of Bruce's life and achievements into a format that will work on the big screen.
What does this entail?
The most important part of this process is the writing of the script. Currently our writer, Matthew Grainger, is busy trying to work out the best way to tell the story of Bruce McLaren, and present it in an entertaining fashion.
To aid him in this endeavour research has also begun in order to gather as complete a picture of Bruce as possible. This includes speaking to the people who lived and worked with Bruce throughout his life.
There is also a lot of organisational work to be done, including starting discussions with people who will be instrumental in helping us bring Bruce's story to the big screen.
How long will development take?
Development is expected to take several months, and a lot will depend on how quickly the script develops.
But how hard can it be, Surely you know the story?
True, the story of Bruce's life is well documented, but to tell the story of a person's life in about two hours, means that an awful lot of material cannot appear in the film. In a nutshell, the writer has to work out who Bruce really was, how he achieved what he did, and which are the key moments in his life that allow that story to be told in an exciting and entertaining way?
What happens next?
All going to plan, the film then moves into the pre-production phase, which is when things get a lot more exciting. Cars will start getting built, ideas will be tested, locations looked at, and a whole lot more. We will keep you posted as things develop.
